Supervision

Reflecting on your work with clients

Supervision is an important space in the life of psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors, as well as other professionals in the mental health and educational sectors, as it offers them a valuable opportunity to explore the work with their clients (or students).

I am on the British Psychological Society’s (BPS) Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS) in the UK.

In Italy, I am registered with AssoCounseling as a Supervisor-Counselor (REG-A2720-2021).

In my supervisory capacity, my aim is to help practitioners (students, qualified colleagues or other professionals) to:

  • reflect on issues and questions in relation to their work
  • clarify dynamics within the therapeutic/professional relationship
  • consider the implications and resonances of the clients’ process for and on the therapist/counsellor/practitioner

Having trained and practiced as a psychologist, psychotherapist and counsellor, I adopt an integrative perspective to supervision, one that is open to different ways and styles of working, but with a particular reference to the psychodynamic, existential and transpersonal models.

My approach to human becoming and healing considers not only the workings of the mind and the changes in behaviours, but also – and more importantly – the interconnections between body, mind and soul, where embodiment, dreams, archetypes and creativity are integrative parts of what being human means.

I have experience working with students and colleagues who practice in a variety of contexts, such as the private sector, charities, schools and educational settings, health and care institutions, as well as in private practice. I have supervised art therapists, play therapists and drama therapists, as well.
