Fifth circle: The Bear (Ursa Major Constellation, visible in May)

Ursa Major (or the Great Bear) is one of the largest constellations visible in the Northern sky in May. Its seven main stars form what has been called the ‘Big Dipper’, the ‘Plough’ and the ‘Wagon’, among other things.

What does a Bear evoke for us? Who is this great animal living in the sky and also inhabiting our Earth? How can some stories and myths about it channel qualities and images that link the above with the below, resonating in turn within us?

In this month’s circle we will set on a journey towards the far North, curious to see what we will bring back with the help of Bear and its very ancient wisdom.
